As the 2021 International Youth Day is commemorated, the Member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency, Dr. Simon Mwadkwon has commended the Youths in his Federal Constituency, Plateau State, Nigeria and world over for their positive disposition, true patriotism and being innovative despite the numerous challenges they are being confronted with.
The Federal Lawmaker disclosed that the theme of International Youth Day 2021 which is “Transforming Food Systems: Youth Innovation for Human and Planetary Health” is apt and timely. The theme he said is with the aim of highlighting that the success of such a global effort will not be achieved without the meaningful participation of young people.
It has been acknowledged that there is a need for inclusive support mechanisms that ensure youth continue to amplify efforts collectively and individually to restore the planet and protect life.
In a statement to the youths on the occassion of the 2021 International Youth Day signed by his Director of Media and Publicity, Cmr. Friday Bako the Lawmaker encouraged the Youths to keep developing themselves in order to live meaningful and productive lives.
“You are persons with multidimensional talents, abilities and gifts which must be harnessed effectively to enable you achieve your full potentials”
“You are energetic, full of ideas that can shape the World and the pillar holding our society; building your capacities is beneficial to Nation building” he said.
Rep. Mwadkwon charged government at all levels to give greater attentions to issues that will improve the education, health and welfare of the Youths.
He reiterated his commitment to human capital development and enacting laws that will have direct impact on the Youths.
While wishing them a successful celebration, he urged them to continue to contribute their quota to National Peace, unity, prosperity and not allowed themselves to be used for the wrong reasons.
