Plateau, Our Heritage Commends Govt Efforts in COVID-19 Fight, Urge Citizens to be More Cautious and Go For Test

Press Release

Plateau Our Heritage, POH, wishes to commend the proactive steps so far taken by the Plateau state governor, His Excellency, Governor Simon Bako Lalong in the fight against the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic.

The POH also uses this occasion to congratulate our amiable Chief of Staff, Mr. Noel Dongjur and the Hon. Abe Aku, the Commissioner of Commerce and Industry, for coming out successful in the period they stayed in isolation following their positive status.

This indeed, is a testimony that the Plateau state government is not relenting in its determination to protect the citizens from this dreaded pandemic to ensure that all economic and social activities rebound across the state.

The POH is consoled that other tests results are being awaited and equally urge the citizens to cooperate with the government and support all efforts at getting these results released as this will further avail the state the opportunity to live up to its responsibilities as it is evident.

The POH further advise the citizens; especially those who have contacts with any person; either taken  to an isolation facility  or suffering from the symptoms of COVID-19, to make it a duty to quickly avail themselves for further tests and subsequent isolation pending the determination of these results as a far reaching step to curbing further spread.

The POH notes with satisfaction, the sacrifices so far made by all and appeal to all that this must be sustained because its for the good of all as the state joined the world in the fight of COVID-19 as to get out of this, requires patience on the part of the people especially now that the government all all level is not losing sleep to contain the spread.

POH further encourages the efforts of the members of the Plateau vaccine committee to put in their best by maintaining world best practices in arriving at their conclusions so as to stimulate acceptance of the presence of COVID-19 in our daily life.

The government should also initiate further testing of civil servants; including members of groups and associations not limited to  the NURTW, marketers and traders’ unions etc who are considered vulnerable because of their daily interactions with the populace as a further step to mitigating the spread.
