Plateau: Nigerian workers Deserve Purposeful Leadership for Better Welfarism

A group of workers in Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau have said that Nigerian workers deserved visionary and purposeful leadership for better welfarism

Mr Datok Fin, spokesman of the group, made the pronouncement on Friday when the group purchased a form for its preferred candidate, Mr Arandong Makwin for the councils forth coming NULGE election at the Plateau State NULGE Headquarter, Aungle-di, Jos.

Our Correspondent reports that the sale of forms for various NULGE elective positions in all the 17 Local Government areas of the state has began in preparation elections billed for June.

Fin, told the Election Committee at the MuLGE Headquarters that the group decision to purchase the Chairmanship Form for Yohana-Makwin was based on their belief in his capabilities and vision for a better welfare for the entire Barkin-Lad LG workers.

The group spokesman said unionism was solely based on welfarism and that anyone elected to leader the people especially workers must put their welfare at the front burner.

“The choice was based on our unanimous agreement on this year’s workers day celebration, that comrade ARONDONG YOHANNA-MAKWIN, who is our current NULGE Caretaker Chairman should contest for the position of NULGE branch chairman of Barkin-Ladi LGA.

“We believe with a leader like him, our welfare as workers will be better hence our resolve to contribute toward the purchase of the form for him to go into the election unopposed to continue with the good work he is doing as a caretaker Chairman,” Fin explained.

Fin commended the state NULGE president and the state executive council for unanimously resolving that elections be conducted at all the 17 branches of the local governments in the state.

He asserted, “this is the only way workers are free to express their democratic rights to elect visionary and purposeful leaders that will grant them better if not best welfare.”

According to him, he was speaking on behalf of the entire NULGE members in Barkin-Ladi LG who because of covid-19 pandemic could not come in compliance with social distancing order.

He has also shown us that he is a great leader having sacrificed both his financial resources and time to attend to matters concerning workers even at odd hours.

Fin, however, called on all labour leaders at all levels across the nation to imbibed this qualities of leadership in order to stimulate the welfare and development of the workers.
