PUBLIC NOTICE

To help contain the spread of the novel corona virus & to safeguard the lives of citizens of Langtang North Local Government Council, the Executive Chairman of Langtang North Local Government Council Hon. Ubandoma Joshua Laven has in compliance to the directive of the Executive Governor of Plateau State his Excellency Rt. Hon Simon Bako Lalong taken certain measures that must be complied with.

In view of the above, an enforcement team comprising of medical professionals, the military, paramilitary & selected departments in the local government have been inaugurated to serve in the Local Government Enforcement team to ensure compliance to the government directive.

Effective from 27th March to April 10th 2020;

1. All Public markets have been suspended including the Langtang Saturday market & all other weekly markets however, shops or stalls selling food items & provision will continue to operate unless otherwise directed.
2. All Wedding ceremonies, funerals, birthday parties, cultural events & any other public gathering that will have more than 50 attendees will not be permitted.
3. Religious gathering of more than 50 attendees will no longer be permitted but religious organizations are encouraged to have form small worship groups.
4. Motorcycle riders are allowed to carry not more than one passenger at a time.
5. Public transport operators are prohibited from overloading their vehicles & people coming in to Langtang North must submit themselves to checks by medical / security personnel.
6. Restaurants & eateries are allowed to operate normally but customers must be served in take-away packs so as to avoid crowding.
7. Viewing centers are not allowed to operate.
8. All drinking places including local joints are henceforth to be closed for business.
9. All form of street hawkings & street begging are hereby suspended.
10. It is strongly recommended that unless absolutely necessary, everyone should remain at home & maintain social distancing.

Government regret all inconveniences these changes may cause but this measures have become necessary in view of the current corona virus pandemic.
