The Management Committee Chairman of Barkin Ladi Local Government Council, Hon. Ezekiel Mandyau esq today received an award of excellence as a Progressive, Prosperous Nigerian and an Icon of Youth Empowerment from the Young Youth Network Nigeria (YYNN).
Leader of the delegation and National President of YYNN, Engr. Harmony Emmanuel said the Council Boss was carefully selected for the award considering his impact to humanity and the society, entrenching credible and transparent leadership at the grassroot.
He said they are identifying with him as a change maker and his impact to humanity and society as a whole.
The group described Hon. Mandyau as a prudent manager of resources, someone who detest oligarchy in governance, an enthusiast for peace and harmonious living, always displaying uncommon commitment to the emancipation of Nigeria, human capital development, unparalleled contributors of ideas for the overall advancement of education, staff welfarism, open door policy and his love for the youths.
The group said it found him worthy of the award on account of his unmatched antecedence, contributions to peaceful coexistence and his laudable achievements within the short period as Chairman of the Council.
Barr. Mandyau who was flanked by the Council Secretary, Hon. Rwang Dusu and other management Staff of the Council appreciated the group for finding him worthy of the award and was quick to say “I am not a lover of awards, we have so much to be done and we will continue to do our best not to be distracted by Awards”
He promised to partner with progressive youth groups toward empowering and making life meaningful to youths.
He said the Council is in strategic youths and women empowerment. He said there are existing options targeted towards engaging the youths as they are partnering with Plateau Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (PLASMEDA) to train 500 Youths.
He said focus is also on displaced persons toward addressing their humanitarian challenges and appreciated Governor Simon Lalong for reiterating the humanitarian conditions of the IDPs to President Buhari when he visited him.
He said he is partnering with NGOs to provide medical assistance to the people who are affected by violent crisis.
He said the honor will humble and challenge him to do more.
The event took place in the Chairman’s Office, Barkin Ladi LGC.
