Senator-Elect Plateau North, Rep. ID Gyang Bags ‘Living Hero’ Award

The Senator-Elect Plateau North in the just concluded General Election and Member who is presently representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency, Barr. I. D. Gyang has bagged a Distinguished Icon Of Leadership (DIL) Award as Living Hero in Politics and good representative in Legislative Affairs from the Citizens Right and Leadership Awareness Initiative in collaboration with Oduduwa Watch News Online in the Plateau State Living Hero Award 2019.

The Senator-Elect who was represented by Cmr. Friday Bako appreciated the organizers for finding him worthy for such great and conspicuous honour which he said remain dear to him.

He said he will continue to contribute immensely to humanity and society to justify the Award which he said will spur him to do even more.

He said as a Representative, he will continue to enact laws that will be of benefit to the people and the nation.

He charged the guests to use their potentials, gifts and talents toward the growth and development of humanity, Plateau State and Nigeria as a whole.

He admonished them on the need to play critical roles in national unity, peace, cohesion, prosperity, growth and development.

He said the manifestation of his legislative engagements are visible in the Constituency he is representing and promised to replicate same across the Local Government Areas that made up the Senatorial Zone.

He thanked the Electorates for the mandate accorded him and promised not to disappoint them but justify same with optimal performance and representation.

Rep. I. D. Gyang said his “Positive Impact” agenda is geared towards human capital development, diversity management and societal transformation through people-oriented and result-driven leadership.

He dedicated the award to God Almighty, the people of his Federal Constituency, Plateau North and Plateau State.

The Chairman of the Award Organizing Committee, Mr. Oladipo Musibau said the event is an Initiative to restore dignity of labour, integrity and motivate Nigerian Icons who should be identified and celebrated while alive instead of placing beautiful epitaphs on their tombs in death a time they would not personally appreciate the value attracted to their years of kindness or philanthropic addition to the society or the Community they are serving or once served.

Guest Speaker at the occasion, Dr. Vings Jonah Lomak spoke on who a Hero is and said Heroes are people who do ordinary things in extraordinary ways to get extraordinary results.

He said Hero has no age limit and must have composure and self-control at all times against all odds.

“A Hero must be able to embrace vulnerability.”

“A hero is a risk taker” he said

Dr. Vings said Heroes ignore things that could suppress their potentials.

He charged the guests to Research on the Heroes, get close to them, appreciate them through awards/other gestures and share their stories.

He said there is need for impressive and motivational reward systems for heroes by Governments, NGOs and CSOs.

Other recipients of the Awards were Baba Gideon Dandam the Plateau State Coordinator of Fadama III Project, the Management Committee Chairman Riyom LGA Da Hon. Emmanuel Danboyi Jugul, Chairman Plateau State Universal Basic Education Board Prof. Matthew Sule, Hon. Emmanuel Solomon Dung (Gibok) PDP Chairmanship Candidate Jos South LGA, Rt. Hon. Barr. Joshua Izang Madaki Speaker Plateau State House of Assemblies and others.

The event took place on Thursday 28th March, 2019 at Silk Suit Jos Plateau State and was well attended.
