REP-ELECT, BAGOS REPLIES AUDU OGBEH, BLOWS HOT AGAINST GRAZING RESERVE

“We have always said that grazing reserve is not what is obtainable in the 21st century. I was against it, I’m still against it, and I will forever be against it, as long as it’s grazing reserve, because it is not in conformity to the developmental strides of the 21st century. That is not acceptable.

We have always said, if you want to graze, go and get your ranch and do your private business.

It is something that we must voice out at the National Assembly.

Yes, the National Assembly has dropped the grazing reserve bill. According to them, that has to do with the states. But for us, we will never allow such a thing in our constituency. we cannot allow something that will endanger the lives of our people in the near future. We know that grazing reserve is nothing but land grabbing.

If a person wants to graze, he should fund it.
I’m for private ranch. For example, If you have your three or four cows behind your own house, already that’s a ranch.

But for government to take advantage of the land act to carve out hecters of land and say that it is for grazing reserve, that’s absolutely not acceptable.

Whosoever wants to graze should go and buy a land of his own and establish his own ranch as a private entity.

You know when you argue it out this way, they bring it back in another English. Whether it’s RANCH, COLONY, OR GRAZING RESERVE, as long as it entails collecting lands from the people, we will not accept it. We will always stand against it.”
