Berom Community in Abuja Holds Wusal Berom

As the year comes to an end, the Berom Community in Abuja (BECA) today Sunday 18th November, 2018 held its Annual Wusal Berom, a prayer event to appreciate and praise God for his faithfulness to the Berom Nation.

The event which took place at National Christian Centre Abuja saw a huge turnout of Berom illustrious Sons/daughter leaving within and out of Abuja.

Chairman of Berom Community in Abuja, Engr Markus Choji Dye welcomed at Guests and spoke on the need for purposive unity, love and oneness among the Berom Nation.

He said God has blessed them with great potentials, both human and natural which cannot be jettisoned. He said they are strategically located and can attain greatness if they pursue unity and make their ways right with God.

He said the challenges the Berom Nation is going through would one day be a thing of the past and he is optimistic they would emerge out of same stronger, bolder, better and greater.

Da Engr. Markus Dye charged the people to make God their priority as He is the solution to their numerous problems.

He prayed for the departed souls to rest in peace, speedy recovery to those injured and called on government at all levels to speed up resettlement plans to those who were sacked from their communities.

The Senator representing Plateau North and immediate past Governor of Plateau State Da Sen. Jang said despite the numerous challenges confronting the Berom Nation, the people are united to serve God Almighty.

He said God would not allow anyone take their heritage, saying the sane way the forefathers protected the land the people would continue to do same.

He said the plans of God towards the Berom Nation would come to pass and no one can stop it urging the people to get closer to God.

He said God would transform the people and heal the Land if He is served diligently and wholeheartedly.

He prayed for peace, unity and prosperity in Berom Nation, Plateau State and Nigeria in general.

Gbong Gwom Jos and Chairman Joint Traditional Council, HRM Da Jacob Gyang Buba, CON in his remarks commended Berom Community in Abuja (BECA) for the wonderful work and said he is proud of the great feat being achieved by it.

He said the traditional Council are proud of BECA for portraying the Berom Nation good and giving it good reputation before people in the Capital City, Abuja.

He said BECA is a unifying factor to the Berom Nation and making the Berom Nation proud.

He said everyone is aware of the challenges confronting the Berom Nation.

He admonished the people to repent of their sins and God is ready and willing to forgive them and bless them.

He charged the people to learn from the Israelites and live right.

He said God has blessed the Berom Nation with huge potentials from time immemorial.

He said the Berom Nation will continue to wax stronger to the amazement and shame of its enemies. He urged the people to be prayerful, saying the efficacy of prayers will solve the problems being experience.

He charged them to return to God in true repentance. He said we have turned our backs from God.

He spoke on mentorship of the younger generation. He said women have greater roles to play on proper development of the Children. He said they are the first teacher of the children and must train them in the ways of the Lord.

He said the people must unite towards development of the Children.

He said the people are industrious and must learn how to live responsible, be prayerful and godly for God’s blessings.

He said the Berom Nation are peaceful, accommodating but would not allow anyone trample on them saying the people has not forgotten their heritage.

Thanked and commended the COCIN President and the Body of Christ for visiting the President and telling him the truth about the security challenges confronting Plateau State. He said he is fully in support of their position.

He charged the Youth on godly living saying they are the future of the land.

He said Jos is cosmopolitan and a miniature Nigeria therefore crimes should not be apportioned to a particular tribe out of sentiments.

He said God has good plans for the Berom Nation, plans for good and not of evil.

Representative of Plateau State Governor, Hon. Bulus Bot, Commissioner of Physical Planning spoke on unity and said the people should remain faithful to God.

He said the Governor has brought a Squadron to Gashish to tackle the security situation and visited to assess the situation at hand.
He said the Berom Land is the most blessed hence the influx of people into the land.

He said the Governor said as campaigns has started, it should be done in more orderly, constructive and diplomatic manner. Charged the people to be supportive of government.

Elder Bitrus Bako Nabasu, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Science and Technology and Representative of the Head of Service of the Federation Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita

Head of Service is deeply pained and worried about the situation in Plateau State particularly Berom land and has been praying and believe in the efficacy of prayer.

Elder Nabasu said he is part of the Berom Community in Abuja and proud to identify with them saying the Berom are unique and hospitable people.

He said other tribes should borrow a leaf from the Berom Nation through organizing similar events.

She spoke on the passion, commitment, loyalty and patriotism of Berom who she worked with to service .

She promised to co-sponsor next year’s event and wished the Berom Nation a hitch free event.

COCIN President and Guest Speaker at the occasion, Da Rev. Dr. Dachollom Datiri spoke on the theme of the event titled “Rejoicing in Hope” and took his reading from Romans 12:12

Rev. Dr. Datiri said God is a God of Promise and He is Faithful in the fulfillment of His Promises.

He admonished the people to remain with great hope and trust God.

He said our strength should be in God.

He said the Berom Nation should receive the new birth, be pure and live righteous.

He said the Berom Nation is like the Israelites who are God’s chosen.

He said what the Berom is going through is a test and they must be strong and resilient which will make them emerge victorious through the hard times.

He said those who are far from God should return closer and shouldn’t allow sins overcome them.

The COCIN President, Da Rev. Dr. Dachollom Datiri led a session of Special Prayers.

Prayers of success were made for the Candidates contesting for the 2019 by COCIN President after admonition from Gbong Gwom Jos.

The Gbong Gwom, HRM Da Jacob Buba spoke on the need to go into the campaigns in friendly and diplomatic manners. He said God is the source of victory and will give those he deemed fit.

He said though not a politician, he is praying God to make those with the interest of the people not greedy emerge victorious.

Those prayed for were Rep. I. D. Gyang the House of Representatives Member Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency who is contesting for Plateau North Senate Seat on the platform of the PDP, former Secretary to Plateau State Government Hon. Rufus Bature APC Plateau North Senate Candidate, Youth Activist/Convener of Plateau Youth G-17 Hon. Dachung Bagos Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency PDP Candidate, Hon. Pam Dongs former House of Assembly Member Jos South Constituency and Former Commissioner of Works APC Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency Candidate, House of Assembly Member Hon. Peter Ibrahim Gyengdeng and others.
