PDP Primaries: I worry about IDPs, others not detractors says Dr. Simon Mwadkwon

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal constituency race, Hon. Simon Mwadkwon says his concern is on the plights of his constituents suffering food and social insecurity in villages and IDP camps, not disputes arising from his emergence as flag bearer of the party.

Mwadkwon who declined comments on alleged conspiracy with some political bigwigs in Plateau North to edge out an acclaimed favoured candidate said his heart is preoccupied with thoughts of how to be of assistance to the people in need and has “no space for grudges”.

“My heart is with my people in the IDP camps. My heart is with my constituents in the villages who have sleepless nights. My heart is with my people who are being hunted, killed, shredded and burnt to ashes.

“My heart is with my people’s farmlands that are destroyed daily. My heart is with the orphans and windows in Plateau. My heart is already occupied and there is no space for grudges.
“I will not respond to any issues arising from the primaries,” he said.

Mwadkwon was accused in an anonymous article published by MKB of conspiring with the PDP Senatorial flag bearer for Plateau North, Hon. Istifanus Gyang and the ex Governor of the State, Jonah Jang to deprive ex Finance Commissioner, Davou Mang of the ticket.

Hon. Gyang in a telephone interview however said he supported all the contestants equally during the Primaries which favoured Simon Mwadkwon.

Speaking through the Head of his media campaign team, Friday Bako, Hon. Gyang said he had no special preference for any aspirant neither did he have time to work against anyone.

“ID Gyang had his own elections to face and could not have had that time. After all he is seeking to represent the entire senatorial zone so he cannot be seen to be taking sides with anyone.

” He would have congratulated and worked with anyone else that emerged just as he has done Mwadkon,” he said.

Gyang cautioned politicians against creating disunity amongst the constituents.
