The accident and emergency (A&E) department of the Jos University Hospital has been inundated with critically injured individuals from the current onslaught in Barkin Ladi LGA.

Scores of individuals with varying degrees of injury, ranging from gunshots wounds to machete cuts are said to have been brought to the department and are languishing there in desperate need of assistance.

The handful of staff who are on duty are said to be massively overwhelmed by the large number of casualties and are therefore requesting for back-up from other segments of the hospital.

At the last count, over 106 individuals had been murdered, with many still reported missing (as such the number could be much higher).
