All Progressive Congress (APC) National Chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun has named Plateau Governor, Simon Lalong as leader of National Executive Committee (NEC) 10-member Technical Committee.
Other members of the 10-member Technical Committee are the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha; Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi; Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai; Governor of Ondo State, Olurotimi Akeredolu, Senator Ben Uwajumogu; Kabiru Ajana; Elisha Kurah, C.J.N. Dakas, and the APC National Legal Adviser, Muiz Banire (Member/Secretary).
Odigie-Oyegun on Tuesday inaugurated the Party’s NEC to examine the President Muhammadu Buhari’s position on the tenure of Party Executives vis-a-vis NEC’s resolution of February 27, 2018.
Buhari over-ruled the NEC last week, saying there will not be an extension of office contrary to an earlier position taken by the Party’s organ.
By Buhari’s position, all the national and state executives of the APC are expected to stand down for a fresh election in June when their tenure would have elapsed, but there are other chieftains of the party led by former governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu who want the Oyegun tenure to end so that another person will be imposed to see to the conduct of the 2019 election.
