Professor Yohanna Izam of the Building department of the University of Jos has been appointed the new PLASU VC.

Prof Izam started his career at the University of Jos in July 1996 as an assistant lecturer and rose through the rank to senior lecturer and “reader” (having done his PhD in Construction Management), with particular focus on Building Project Duration Estimation.

He was subsequently promoted to substantive professor in 2014. Izam was also the commissioner of Housing and Transport, during the administration of Chief Joshua Dariye.

He takes over from Prof Doknan Sheni the current VC who has spent several years in the post.
