Plateau State Government Debunk Sack of 747 Teachers, described online report as mischievous.

The Plateau State Government has on Friday debunked the report that it has sack 747 Teachers in the State as reported by one of the online Newspaper, and described the report published on Tuesday, 13 February, 2018 as mischievous.
Chairman of the Plateau State Universal Basic Education Board SUBEB Professor Matthew Sule while Briefing Journalists at his office in Jos said the State has only retired 747 teachers with full financial benefits and not sack.
He disclose that the Present APC administration in the state has never sack any teacher since it assume office in 2015, but rather granted pardoned to the over 2000 teachers and Religious instructors who were either dismissed or had their appointment terminated by the immediate past administration in the state.
The attention of the Plateau State Universal Basic Education Board has been drawn to an online published report by the Premium Times to the effect that 747 teachers has been sack by the Plateau State Government, I wish to state that the said report credited to the Premium times of Tuesday 13th February, 2018 is not only incorrect, but aimed to create disaffection among the People of Plateau State and also to present the state government in a bad light “.
Professor Sule further described report as misrepresentation of facts which was capable of given wrong information to the Nigerians about Plateau state, saying the 747 were amongst the over 2000 teachers that were dismissed by the past administration and later granted pardoned by Governor Lalong and did not present the basic NCE certificates that qualified them to teach in public schools within the stipulated time and had to be retired with full financial benefits not sacked.
“For the avoidance of thought and putting the record straight, I here states that the Plateau State Government under the Leadership of Barr. Simon Lalong granted pardoned to over 2000 teachers and religious instructors who were either dismissed or had their appointment terminated by the past administration”.
According to the chairman, he disclose that Plateau State is the best in the North Central in terms of prompt payment of salaries and also training to build the capacity of the teachers.
Sule also revealed that the board has put in efforts to ensure that primary school pupils are able to read and write and saying the present Government has also created good atmosphere for teachers to teach comfortably.
