Plateau commence release of funds for the complete takeover of BARC farms

Plateau state government on Thursday said the Simon Lalong led administration is determined to fulfill it’s electioneering promises.
The state government also said it has commenced the release of funds for the complete takeover of the BARC farms sold by the State government some years ago.
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of finance in the state Alhaji Sani Yahaya made this known while addressing journalists at the 2018 Budget breakdown in Jos
He said more investment opportunities will be opened when the Jos Main market and other abundant investment are rebuilt and completed.
Yahaya said this can be seen in government’s efforts in resuscitating the Bokkos Fertilizer Blending plant which has commenced the production of fertilizers in the state.
The state government in its commitment to boosting industrialization through the encouragement of small and medium scale business established the Plateau State Microfinance Development Agency PLASMEDA, already the agency has commenced disbursement of funds to individuals and Co operative societies
He also said Toursim is a major source of revenue earner for the state that is left untapped, to this end government is going into Public private partnership PPP arrangement to revive Jos hotel, Plateau hotels, Solomon later amusement park, Rock International hotel and other tourist centers in the state.
The sum of N354,900,000.00 has been earmarked as intervention in the Toursim sector with the sum of N100,000,,000.00 approved for the completion of the indoor theatre, while the Plateau State toursim corporation has been allocated the sum of N162,000,000.00 for the expansion of Jos wildlife park.
During the last fiscal year, government has done well in the administration of the state, to this end, appointments into the State and federal levels as well as projects were evenly spread across the local government areas of the state
Salaries of Civil servants and pensions of Retirees are been paid as at when due, also civil servants have continued to have their promotions released and financial benefits implemented without delay, there by promoting harmonious relationship with labour
