Plateau APC denies plans of rigging forthcoming LGA polls

Plateau State chapter of All Progressives Congress ( APC ) has denied an allegation that it plans to rig the State local government elections slated for February 17th
APC chairman in Plateau Hon Latep Dabang made this known in a chat with newsmen in Jos on Friday.
It could be recalled that Plateau state chapter of the People’s Democratic Party PDP in Thursday had said the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state has taken steps to demonstrated that it is going to manipulate the process and outcome of the planned local government election scheduled for the 17th of February this month.
The opposition party accused the ruling party of abusing the electoral processes as stipulated in the state’s electoral laws 2017.
State chairman of PDP, Hon Damishi Sango made the allegations in a press conference held in his office in Jos .
According to Hon. Sango, “With two weeks to the date of the council election in the state, the state independent electoral commission (PLASIEC) has not deem it necessary to display the voters register.
In a swift reaction, Latep Dabang the APC chairman in Plateau denied the allegations of plans of manipulating the forthcoming local government election.
“We are not secretly recruiting ad-hoc staff of Plateau State Independent electoral commission,.
The All Progressive Congress APC led administration is determined to conduct a free and fair local government election in the state.
Latep expressed optimism that the forthcoming polls would be free and fair.
He urged the PDP to have confidence in the commission as it was poised toward conducting one of the most credible polls in the history of the state.
The chairman also said the Party is sure of victory in the forthcoming local government election in the state because the people of the state are with them.
He also called on party members to conduct themselves orderly during the forthcoming local government elections in the state.
