Plateau Revenue Service target N21billion to augment 2018 Budget in the State.

The Plateau State Internal Revenue Service PSIRS said it has taken steps to meet up the target of N21billion as 2018 Budget allocation in the State.

Executive Chairman of the Plateau State Internal Revenue Service Mr Dashe Arlat stated this yesterday in Jos while briefing Journalists at the PSIRS Headquarters

He said they are intensifying sensitization campaigns across the 17 Local Government areas so as to educate and mobilize taxpayers on tax matters.

“For us to achieve the Plateau State 2018 Budget Allocation of N21.1billion, the service will vigorously pursue and upscale thorough monitoring of, and demand and ensure strict compliance by all MDAs in Plateau State to the government approved automation process of assessment, invoicing, collection, payment and receipting”.

He said out of the N12billion and N11billion targets allocated in the 2017 budget to PSIRS, they generated N8billion and is very optimistic that they will achieve the 2018 target.

According to him the government approved processes are aimed to check, identify and eliminate wastages, leakages and omissions that lead to loss of revenue across board.

Arlat disclose that the Plateau State Internal Revenue Service is among the first Revenue agencies in Nigeria that Launched the Voluntary Asset and income declaration schemes VAIDS and also commended Governor Simon Lalong for signing into law the long awaited Plateau State internal Revenue harmonized law passed by the State Assembly last year.

“By Coming into force of the Plateau State internal Revenue Harmonized law, the stage is set and the path of progress made clear for the activation and sustenance of an effective, efficient and performance driven tax administration system in the state, and in all Local Governments “.

He stressed that staff are being deployed to all nook and crannies of the state and reaching the door steps of the  taxpayers for their convenience, proper assessment and for ease of collection and remittance of all payments due.
