PLATEAU STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL APPROVES A DRAFT BUDGET OF N145B FOR 2018 FISCAL YEAR

The Plateau State Executive Council has approved a draft budget of one hundred and forty-five billion, four million naira for the 2018 fiscal year. Revealing this to government House correspondent at the Government House, Rayfield, Jos Tuesday, the commissioner for information and communication, Nazif Mohammed said, the budget was for people oriented projects which cut across the state.

According to him, the appropriation bill is to be forwarded to the Plateau State House of Assembly immediately for prompt attention.

The commissioner added that, the state Executive Council also approved funds for the payment of gratuities of retired state government workers.

The Head of Service of Plateau State, Izang Azi has while also speaking said, all those yet to receive their gratuities are entitled to part payment.

He disclosed that, the state executive council also approved funds for the payment of “No work, No Pay” outstanding salaries of tertiary institutions of the state.
The state executive council has equally approved the Plateau State Water Resources and Sanitation Policy.

Also speaking, the commissioner for Water Resources and Energy, Ja’afaru Wuyep stressed that policy would regulate activities in the sector towards ensuring the availability of safe water for private use and business initiatives.

The commissioner disclosed that regularity measures would be enforced with proper implementation of the policy to cover issues relating to power supply which would also offered to citizens greater access to power.
