Relief materials came to the Irigwe Nation following attacks that killed dozens and rendered many homeless as Coalition of Plateau Youth Ethnic Nationalities in conjunction with Plateau Youth G-17 Peace and Progressive Forum today visited the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Camp in Miango with various relief materials to bring succor to the affected persons.
The visit which brought together the various ethnic nationalities and G-17 has indicated unity of purpose among the people and depicted that an “injury to one is an injury to all”
Northern Zonal Chairman of Coalition of Plateau Youth Ethnic Nationalities, Mr. Dekete Paul Joshua said the visit is to encourage the affected persons, the Irigwe Nation and Plateau State on the spates of attacks that took many lives and destroyed property. He further called on the security agencies to ensure that such attacks are curtailed and perpetrators are brought to book. He also called on government, SEMA, NEMA and well spirited individuals to come to the aid to the people with relief materials to make them have sense of belonging.
Plateau Youth G-17 was represented by Mr. Yaks Danja Dafwams who said the hostilities in Miango is unfortunate, wicked and barbaric. He called on the relevant law enforcement agencies to work assiduously to ensure such attacks are not repeated. Mr. Danja said what the people of Miango need now is adequate security, reconciliation, reconstructions of their destroyed homes and their rehabilitation. He said Plateau Youth G-17 stands for peace and will continue to promote peace, unity, harmonious living and integration in Plateau State and Nigeria at large.
Also in the visit were present and past leaders of ethnic nationalities in Plateau State, The President of Irigwe Youth Mr. Chinge Ayuba Dodo and his Secretary Mr. John Gospel Gana, Domichit Lannap, Sandra Nanbam Yilgwan, Bukola Obembe, Nerat, Song Muru and others.
The group also visited the Paramont Ruler of Irigwe Nation, Bra Ngwe Irigwe, Rev. Ronku Akka (Rtr) and console him and his entire people over the unfortunate wanton destruction of lives and property in his domain.
