THE University of Jos Alumni Association is set to hold its 2017 reunion and dinner. The event, scheduled to hold on Thursday, September 28 at the Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja, is being organised to bring former students of the institution together to discuss issues that will help to attract much-needed infrastructure to the university.
The association, in a statement signed by its President, Mallam Idris Yakubu, noted that members who had distinguished themselves in their areas of calling would receive awards, while those who had attained executive and appointive positions in the public and private sectors would be honoured and celebrated.
The highpoint of the event, the statement added, would be the unveiling of a 3D presentation of the Alumni Centre, a multipurpose facility with a 500-seat auditorium, a banquet hall, reading bay and an Internet bar, among others.
The event will be chaired by a former Minister of Information and Culture, Prince Tony Momoh, while Prof. C.J. Dakas will deliver a lecture titled, The Strategic role of alumni in the development of universities and our immediate communities.
Some of the Josites expected to attend the event include the Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; four state governors, senators, the Minister of Youths and Sports, Solomon Dalung, as well as captains of industries.
