Following the killing of 7 people (including the Reverend of COCIN LCC Abonong, his wife, 3 of his children and 2 other individuals) by suspected herdsmen in Foron district last night, 6 other youths from the community who staged a daring operation to secure the terrain between Fusun – Jos East and Abonong – Barkin Ladi were said to have been killed by mobile police officers drafted to the area.

The circumstances surrounding the killings remain unclear but information available to us indicates that they were killed earlier this afternoon in a stand-off with security operatives.

As such all are urged to remain calm and law abiding.
