Fashion is a popular aesthetic expression at a particular time and place and in a specific context, especially in clothing, footwear, lifestyle, accessories, makeup, hairstyle, and body proportions. Fashion trend often connotes a peculiar aesthetic expression and often lasting shorter than a season, fashion is a distinctive and industry-supported expression traditionally tied to the fashion season and collections.

Whereas style is an expression that lasts over many seasons and is often connected to cultural movements and social markers, symbols, class, and culture. Unlike the Swedish warm clothes, the African Fashion is adapted to thin clothes largely determined by it’s climate and weather.

Event attraction is an important aspect of Tourism Worldwide, it’s probably the type of tourism that attracts large numbers of tourists gathering at the same time. Cultural Tourism which is as old as mankind is one of such and fashion is one thing Humanity cannot do without since the beginning of Man’s civilization. Jos the Plateau State Capital is one destination that is most suitable to host events because of its unique Clement weather, hospitable nature of the people, Unique Geographic features, Serenity and the availability of good support services. Hence, Jos has become the pilot and pioneer destination for the hosting of African Fashion show which is an annual event envisioned to be a Continental Show. Mr Sibin Benjamin is the Founder of this aesthetic, Cultural and Colourful event (Africulfash) that has been holding for Three years now with the 4th edition coming up soon.

The African cultural fashion show organized by “Africulfash”, is a show that is designed to showcase the beauty of African wears by African designers through the use of indigenous fabrics on the Runway. It also promotes and exposes our local designers to the rest of the world, thereby, attracting Fashion Tourists every year to attend this event. This year’s event is themed: ” stand up against Rape and Violence”, it comes up on the 8th November 2020 at Sarau Event Center Behind NTA network Jos Yakubu Gowon way, with Red Carpet starting by 2:00pm. Part of the attractions for this year’s event are Music, dance, poetry and introducing the Evolution of Fashion, this is where the Models will take you on a journey from how fashion was during the stone age, Middle age and what it is now, all on the Runway.
