2025 Pilgrimage Prep: NCPC to Sign Contracts With Air Carriers, Ground Handlers in June

Abuja, Nigeria – May 13, 2025

The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) is gearing up for a successful 2025 Pilgrimage Exercise with plans to sign contractual agreements in June with air carriers and ground handlers. This milestone move will cover pilgrimages to Israel, Jordan, Rome, Greece, and Turkey.

The announcement was made by the Executive Secretary of NCPC, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, during the financial bid opening held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. The bid process marks a significant step in the preparation for the upcoming pilgrimage season.

Bishop Adegbite underscored the values of transparency and integrity that drive his administration. “We urge service providers to up their game by ensuring they put in their best efforts in rendering services to the Commission,” he said. “Our corporate slogan, ‘Service and Satisfaction,’ cannot be compromised. We assure you that your labor of love will not be in vain.”

He further assured stakeholders that the process is being handled with utmost fairness, noting that both the Commission and the service providers are expected to uphold high standards. “We will not cheat any service provider, and neither will they cheat the Commission,” he affirmed.

The financial bid opening follows the initial technical bid screening conducted on April 2, 2025, in which one air carrier and five ground handlers emerged qualified. Observers present at the bid commended NCPC for maintaining transparency, justice, and fair play throughout the process.

As the Commission moves forward with finalizing contracts, its commitment remains unwavering: to provide pilgrims with safe, comfortable, and spiritually enriching journeys.

NCPC—Service and Satisfaction, Always.
