2023 NADCEL: Maj. Gen. Abdulsalami Ibrahim Lauds Personnel’s Professionalism as Nigerian Army Clocks 160 Years

General Commander Commanding (GOC) 3 Armoured Division of the Nigeria Army who doubles as the Commander Operation Safe Haven, Maj. Gen. Abdulsalami Ibrahim has commended the gallantry and professionalism being demonstrated by the personnel of the Nigerian Army over the Years.

The top Army Officer who was represented by the Division’s Training Officer, Brig. Gen. Suleiman Adamu made this known during the Special Jumma’at Prayers which held at the Central Mosque of the Division to herald the commencement of the 2023 Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) to commemorative the 160 Years of the existence of the Nigerian Army.
According to him, the event is very significant to the Nigerian Army since it started in 1978 in Lagos State and later became an annual event held 6th July.
He said an interdenominational Church service will be held on Sunday 2nd July, 2023 at the All Saint Protestant Church Maxwell Khobe Cantonment Jos by 10am while this year’s event will culminated on 6th July, 2023 with Civil-Military Activities which will feature a Medical Outreach at Jebbu Bassa LGA.

He said this Year’s NADCEL with the time “sound administration as a panacea for effective Military operations” will hold in Ibadan 2 Division Oyo State.
He urged personnel of the Nigerian Army to remain patriotic and committed to discharging their constitutional responsibilities of protecting lives and property as well as safeguarding the territorial of the Nation against internal and external threats.

The Chief Imam of Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Col. Abubakar Tahir in his sermon admonished the Military personnel to tolerate each other and work towards achieving the mandate of the Nigeria Army which is protecting the territorial integrity against aggression within and without. He said Prophet Muhammad preached tolerance and respect for other people’s faith and same should be emulated by his followers.
He urged Nigerians to tolerate one another irrespective of ethnic and religious backgrounds saying that will enhance peaceful coexistence which in turn will translate to national development.
According to him, “without peace, no meaningful development can be achieved”
He also admonished the citizens to accord the necessary supports to the Nigerian Army to succeed.

The Jumma’at Prayer was well attended by Army Personnel and their Families.
