2023 Census: NPC Organizes Capacity Training for Plateau State Census’ Publicity Committee Members

In its readiness for the 2023 Population and Housing Census, the National Population Commission (NPC) has Organized a one-day capacity Workshop for Members of the Plateau State Publicity Committee on the 2023 Population and Housing Census.

The Capacity Building Workshop held at Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat Jos, Plateau State and the Honorable Federal Commissioner Plateau State, Mrs Cecilia Dapoet who declared the event open said the workshop is aimed at equipping Members of the Publicity Committee with adequate information about the 2023 Population and Housing Census as well as the modalities for the process.
According to her, data from the census will be used for national planning and charged the general public to accord the necessary cooperation and support for the success of the exercise.
She hinted that the Commission is ready and fully committed to conduct its first fully digital Population and Housing Census in accordance with the United Nations Principles and Recommendations for the 2020 Programme on Population and Housing Censuses.

Participants lauded the Commission for organizing the workshop saying it is apt and timely as it has provided them with the necessary information about the national exercise and made them better informed.
They assured the Commission of their readiness to put in their best to ensure the success of the exercise.

The 2023 Population and Housing Census is scheduled to hold from 3rd to 5th May, 2023.
