2021 Children Day’s Celebration: Rep. Simon Mwadkwon Encourages Children to Work Towards Attaining Their Destinies

As the 2021 Children’s Day is being observed Nationally today being the 27th May, 2021, the Member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency Plateau State, Rep. Simon Mwadkwon Ph.D has encouraged Children not to relent in their making concerted efforts towards achieving their full potentials.

He said the theme for the 2021 International Children’s Day “Unite to reverse the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on children” is instructive as it calls for more concerted efforts from the government in partnership with the private sector, in addressing the issues of poverty, malnutrition, poor infrastructure for learning and other challenges being faced by Children.
He stressed the need for greater attention to the upbringing of Children morally, educationally, socially and spiritually in order for them to grow up being responsible and patriotic Citizens in the future.

The Lawmaker describes Children as special gifts with unique capabilities, abilities, talents and capacities that must be supported in order for them to realize their full potentials.

He said as a Lawmaker, he will sponsor and support Bills that will improve the welfare of children; promote, celebrate and protect their rights.

He admonished parents, government at all levels and concerned individuals to give attention to empowering children and providing them platforms to air their views.

The Lawmaker wished them a hitch free celebration.
