CELEBRATING THE GALLANTRY AND PATRIOTISM OF OUR ARMED FORCES AND FALLEN HEROES

Today, on behalf of my family and the good people of Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency Plateau State, I, Rep. Simon Mwadkwon Ph.D celebrate the gallantry and dexterity of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the occasion of the 2020 Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD), a day set aside to honour the fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives for the good of the Nigerian nation.

I also recognize and commend the efforts of our serving heroes (men and women) who continue to fight and sometimes lay down their lives to maintain the territorial integrity of the nation and for the sustenance of world peace through the various United Nations peace support operations and Internal Security Operations.

I also commend the arm forces for the fight against Boko Haram insurgency and banditry.

May I at this point call on government not to allow their service and labour to the Nation be in vain, but be rewarded through beneficial welfare system this is because their contributions to the peace, unity and national security cannot be overstated.

Government must also make sincere and committed effort towards the plights of the families of slain soldiers who lost their lives while protecting our internal security and territorial integrity.

I also call on the Armed Forces to continue to display high level of professionalism, skillfulness, doggedness and integrity in the discharge of the official duties.
