A Pressure Youths group from Benue state under the banner “Benue Hopefuls 2019” yesteday vowed to unseat the incumbent governor of Benue state through the ballot box come 2019 general elections.

The group in Press Statement issued in Jos yesterday and signed by the Leader Terhemen Bem, and secretary Mr Ochai Oguche indicates their intention to support the current North Central Zonal Secretary, Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria Comrade Richard Gbamwuan, to contest the governorship in 2019 to succeed the incumbent Governor Samuel Ortom whom they described have performed poorly.

The group said they were in Jos, Plateau state in search of of better representation to replace governor Samuel Ortom as governor.

“We are a concern youth group yearning for a better Benue state, our association is not a political group, we are not sponsored by anyone. Our concern is a better future that our younger once and children to inherite, that’s why we are here calling on comrade Richard Gbamwuan to contest the governorship position.”

“We are disappointed in the performance of Dr. Samuel Ortom as governor of our dear state, he has done nothing, so he dose not deserve re-election. Our people are dying of hunger due to non payment of salaries.”

“Benue people are suffering untold hardship, our parents have withdrawn their children from schools, because they can not pay school fee. 70 percent of citizens in Benue state cannot assess medication due to lack of funds, simply because the governor failed in his responsibilities to pay civil servants their due entitlements.”

“We beacon on comrade Richard Gbamwuan, to come and salvage our state 2019 as governor. We know he has the capacity to do it, we have seen his performance as the north central zonal secretary, medical and health workers union.”

The Youths however appeal to Comrade Richard Gbamwuan, to contest the election against governor Samuel Ortom in 2019, saying they will continue to campaign against the re-election of governor Ortom, until it aims was achieve.

It will be recalled that Comrade Richard Gbamwuan who is the North Central Zonal Secretary Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria had recently visited his kinsmen in Naka,Gwer West local government area of Plateau state and made his intension known to contest the 2019 governorship office of Benue state.
