2019: Gov Lalong Solicits Prayers For Peaceful electioneering

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau state on sunday called for peaceful electioneering, during the forthcoming 2019 elections.

Governor Lalong made the call at a special prayer session, Thanksgiving service of the central NKST church Jos, in Plateau state.

The governor used the avenue and solicited the support of the entire Benue community living in Jos to support his second tenure bid.

NKST church worldwide has predominant Tiv speaking people as members, the special church Thanksgiving of the NKST witnessed special prayer session for Nigeria, Plateau state and for governor Simon Lalong, the church service was attended by non NKST members.

Speaking earlier, the immediate past executive secretary, human right commission, Prof Bem Angwe who was chairman of the Thanksgiving service in an address appeal to Plateau citizens to be peaceful, and pray for people in authority.

Prof Angwe equally tasked religious and political leaders to work in harmony to develop Nigeria.

In his homily, pastor in charge of the NKST church in Jos, Rev Solomon Igyor charged the political office holders, particularly the governor of Plateau state to lead justly.

Rev Igyor commended governor Lalong for the relative peace been enjoyed in the state, saying the incessant killing that earlier engulf the state this year has reduced.

The clergy charged the entire congregation to put their hope and trust only in God, and be prayerful, stressing that, end of year can be difficult economically.

The cleric said the thanksgiving and prayer session was not just for the governor of Plateau state as an individual, but for the entire Plateau citizens and it land, for God to heal and restore permanent peace in the state.
