The Plateau central Senatorial candidate under the platform of Green Party of Nigeria GPN Santos Ayuba Larab has flaged off his campaign with the presentation of 20 wheel chairs to the Physically Challenge people from the five council areas that made up Plateau central zone.
The Senatorial candidate who is a Senior Lecturer with the department of history and international studies, University of Jos flagged off the campaigns succeed Senator Joshua Dariye in the senate who is currently serving a jail term at the Kuje prison after justice
The event which took place at in Pankshin local government Council also witness the presentation of the Green Party flag by the the chairman of the party Abdul Abdul to the Senatorial candidate which signified that he is flying the GPN flag in next year’s senatorial election.
Speaking at the event the University Don who is also the former Secretary of ASUU university of Jos chapter called for the enactment of laws that is mandatory for public office holders to send their children to public schools in Nigeria as it is practice in Europe and other countries in the world.
“You can not hold public office and send your children to private schools or private Universitoes in foriegn countries as it is the practice of most public office holders in Nigeria.”
According to him, if elected as a senator he would contribute to enact Laws and policies that will create and guarantee enabling environments for empowerment through holistic and quality education for the people of his zone.
“My Senatorial district is blessed with so many hardworking youths who I would empower if elected, a lot of our youths are blessed with different talents and with just a little push can turn their situation around for good. ”
He pointed out that he would support policies of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises(MSMEs) Financing that will empower Youths and would introduce policies that will make mandatory and impactful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by Open Private Sector (OPS) in defined and critical sectors of the society.
“We would introduce policies that would support entrepreneurial spirit of youths as the engine room of societal development or growth.”
The Plateau central Senatorial hopeful also pledged to redefine representation by making sure that laws making and oversight mandate in relation to the health of the people of his constituency and quality health care at the primary and secondary levels.
