As the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC), Da Rev. Yakubu Pam Marks 100 Days in Office, he has unveiled a six point agenda to meet the mandate of the Commission.
Rev. Pam was appointed by President Buhari to head NCPC on 26th June, 2020.
Rev. Pam said the agenda include; to fight & eradicate any form of corruption in the Commission, improve & lift the image of the Commission, embark on reorientation of the mindset of the people, embark on relationship building across the nation, seek effective collaboration with the church and create a peace desk in the Commission.
He said he will ensure that the mission of the Commission “to be an organisation providing excellent services and administration to Nigerian Christians who perform pilgrimage to Holy Sites around the World. An Organisation with high spiritual content capable of being translated into action for national development – security, probity, accountability in line with the policy of the Federal Government of Nigeria” is achieved.
He appreciated President Buhari for the appointment and said he will use his position to promote peace, unite the people, serve God, the people & Nation.
He appreciated Plateau Media for the critical roles they played during his trying moments and how they have been objective, balanced, unbiased and professional in their reportage. He lauded the synergy and healthy working relationship he is enjoying with Journalists and said that will continue to wax stronger.
He said the commission is putting in place modalities to ensure Nigerian Airlines airlift pilgrims to the Holy Land directly from the the Country.
He attributed the achievements since he assumed office to the staff who he posited have been supportive.
He admonished the Staff work with sincerity so that together with teamwork take the Commission to greater height.
He said he will continue to give greater attention to peace building and promised to carry stakeholders along to achieve that.
He said since his assumption of office, he was able to conduct promotion examinations to staff of the Commission which led to the promotion of 36 Staff to their next grade level.
He said presently, staff of the Commission are undergoing training for optimal productivity.
He said the commission will have zero tolerance for absconding pilgrims saying stiff sanctions will be put in place on the Pilgrims and their Guarantors to serve as deterrent.
He said 3-day sensitization will be organized for all intending Pilgrims to acquaint them with what is expected of them and the need to see the exercise as spiritual and not for business purposes.
He said Pilgrims will now be holding “a day with Jesus Christ” in the Holy Land to pray for Nigeria.
The event which held at the Commission’s Chapel was well attended by Directors/heads of Departments of the Commission, Prof (Mrs) Christy Best, Hon. Ayuba Pam Dangwong, Journalists from Jos and other critical Stakeholders.
In their separate remarks, the Directors who took turn to speak commended the unprecedented achievements and the transformation taking place in the Commission which have spurred them to put in their best to achieve the goal of the Commission.
They lauded his charismatic, visionary, pragmatic and purposeful leadership saying the NCPC is exposing him for higher responsibilities ahead.
They said his appointment has attracted greater goodwill to the commission and promised to remain supportive in order to take the commission to enviable height. They described him as a man of integrity who is meticulous and God fearing in discharging his duties. The appreciated him for the conducive working environment he has brought to the Commission and for the cordial working relationship they are enjoying with him. They said the calibre of persons including Governors, Paramount Rulers, Spiritual Leaders and other key figures across the Nation that are visiting their Boss irrespective of the religious, ethnic and geopolitical inclinations, it is an attestation that he is greatly loved.
They prayed God to endow him with more wisdom needed to succeed.
Plateau State Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Cmr. Paul Jatau congratulated the NCPC Boss and said President Buhari didn’t make a wrong choice in him. He assured him of greater supports of Journalists to enhance his performance and enable him to succeed.
Cmr. Gyang Bere, the NUJ Chairman Correspondent Chapel lauded the peace building efforts of the NCPC Boss and his landmark achievements within his short stay in Office and said he is optimistic he will transform the Commission and give it global relevance. He thereafter performed the presentation of a complimentary card to the NCPC Boss.
NCPC Media Unit also presented a gift to the their Boss.
Prof. Christy Best described the NCPC as a agent of national and global peace building as well as a personality who is transforming humanity and the Nation. She said she is optimistic that he will perform creditably well.
Hon. Ayuba Pam described the appointment as well deserved and urged him to remain humble while charging the staff of the commission to accord him the desired supports and cooperation.

The event climaxed with the symbolic cutting of cake and Guests were later treated to a Dinner.
