100 Days in Office: Group Commends Bassa LGA Chairman for His Laudable Projects

Group of Youths in Bassa local government Council of Plateau state on Friday lauded Dr. Joshua Sunday Riti, the Executive Chairman of Bassa Local Government Council (LGC), for the good works he has done in the Council in the past 100 days.

The Youths operating under that ageis of Bassa for Positive Growth in a statement signed by Ajik Lazarus said we commend our council boss for he has achieved remarkable milestones within his first 100 days in office.

According to the group “His leadership has brought significant progress in various sectors, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to the development of Bassa Local government Council,and the well-being of its residents.

The statement further reads that “On assumption of office,Dr. Riti embarked on an extensive ‘Thank You’ tour across all 20 wards in Bassa LGC. “

“This initiative was aimed at expressing gratitude to the people for their support and conducting a needs assessment to identify the most pressing issues in each ward.”

” This tour fostered community engagement and strengthened the bond between the local government and the good people of Bassa LGA.”

The statement also reads that the council boss has done well in tackling insecurity in the council.

“Addressing the menace of insecurity in Bassa LGC has been a top priority ans Hon. Dr. Riti, upon assumption to office, paid a courtesy visit to the GOC 3rd Armored Division/Commander Operation Safe Heaven, Jos, to synergize with security agencies to curb security challenges within Bassa LGA, thereby ensuring a safer environment for residents to live and thrive.”

In a bid to discover talent and potential within the LGA, Dr. Riti hosted the kickoff of the Governor’s Cup, which took place at Kent Academy, Miango, Bassa LGC.

He also added that the Council boss has so far renovated over 60 boreholes across the local government area which has significantly improved water supply and sanitation for numerous communities.

The group also said that the council boss has completed the rural electrification project in Kihang Village, and it is improving the quality of life for residents and spurring economic activities.

The statement also added that We must commend our Council boss for the renovation of the NYSC Secretariat in Bassa LGC as well as his plans to construct roads in rural communities in the council.

The issue of poor rural roads has been captured in this year’s budget to ensure enhanced connectivity within the LGA.

” Our Local government council chairman has done well by patnering with the World Bank through the office of the Special Assistant to the Executive Governor on Plateau Commodity Market (PLACOM) to ensure smooth marketing of farmers’ perishable goods.

“This initiative includes government purchasing and storing goods during periods of glut to prevent farmers from incurring losses.”

“Recognizing the importance of empowering the youth, Hon. Dr. Riti has also facilitated the employment and appointment of over 20 watchmen to protect school materials, children, and teachers after conducting assessments of primary schools within the LGA.”

Our council chairman has done well in training of youths in various skills acquisitions programmes including sewing and hairdressing aimed at promoting self-reliance and entrepreneurship.

Dr. Riti conducted has also carried out assessments of primary health care (PHC) centers and identified ongoing projects, shortages of manpower, and drug supplies. He has ensured that these issues are captured in this year’s budget for resolution and completion.

Salaries and allowances for civil servants have been increased, and it’s up-to-date, we call on the people to continue to support him at all times, the group added.
