As we observe this joyous occasion, let us imbibe the lessons of sacrifice, perseverance, love, tolerance, steadfastness, generosity and obedience to constituted authority which are the hallmarks of this solemn festival as exemplified by the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon Him).

On this occasion, I enjoin all Nigerians to solemnly reflect on the ideals which the founders of our great country espoused and how we can each contribute towards their attainment. We should all work together to make Nigeria great.

I wish you a happy and prosperous Sallah and pray that the glorious blessings of the season will fill your lives with abiding grace and favour.
