You move me!

You move me like the ‘sweet melody’ of the Nigerian anthem at independence.

Like the swirling ‘green-white-green’ flag, waving at the despair of our British colonial masters.

Like the extreme frenzy of slaves just freed……

You move me like Chinua Achebe’s ‘things fall apart’.

Like Gani Fawehinmi’s life.

You move me like Fela’s Afro-beat.

Like Wole Soyinka’s lyrical poise.

Like Col. Umar Dangiwa’s integrity.

You move me like Ken Saro-Wiwa’s bravery.

Like the mysteries in Yoruba folklore and literature…….Like Mupun culture & history!

You move me like the last goal of Atlanta 96′.

You move me like the blood of Dele Giwa on that brown parcel.

You move me like the bullet-hole through Bola Ige’s chest.

Like the last breath of Funsho Williams.

You move me like the empty government rhetoric of ‘We shall bring the perpetuators of this act to Justice’.

You move me like the cries of the fatherless children in Jos.

Like the silent whisper of bullets, cutting through a cold breezy Plateau horizon.

You move me like smell of gun powder in Maiduguri.

Like the cries of a new born child in Dogon Nahauwa.

You move me like the ‘shameful boldness’ in the eyes of a policeman seeking a 20 Naira bribe.

You move me like the ‘irony’ of the millions earned by senators and the pittance earned by teachers.

Like Goodluck Jonathan on holiday in the US, and the ongoing ASUU strike

You move me like the strain of hunger on the face of a child beggar and his empty-clean plate.

Like the hopelessness in the eyes of 100,000 graduates chasing after 500 jobs in at NNPC.

You move me like the ironic religious inclination of Nigerians and their simultaneous corruption.

Like the 5000 emails sitting in my inbox, telling me about the millions I’ve just won and the need to send my bank details to claim it.

Like the corny mindset and persistence of these Nigerian fraudsters.

You move me like the ideology of boko-haram, the dogged-ness of Niger delta militants, the angst of MASSOB and the frustration of OPC.

You move me like the sighs of despair at power outage and the screams of joy when NEPA gives light.

Like the billions of dollar taken from the Niger delta and the zero development of the area.

Like the supposedly ‘valid and hitch-free’ 2007 sElections.

You move me like 1983, 1Naira = 1 dollar

You move me so much I want to graffiti my frustration on Aso-rock, expressing how I feel.

You move me so much I want to take a shit on the National Assembly & wipe my arse with the national flag.

You move me so much I am holding my middle finger to all past Nigerian leaders.

You move me so much I wish we could learn from the revolution in Tunisia & Egypt.

Nigeria shall be great again!
