The communual clashes which erupted last week in Watada district of Wase Local Government Council in the Southern senatorial district of Plateau State has further spilled into Lamba Wakat district of the Local Government.

A source from the community confirmed that two persons were killed, while dozens of others were injured and displaced from their homes. The report indicated that Fulani herdsmen, in their usual clandestine manner, struck at the early hours of Sunday, killing two persons and wounding several. At the time of filing this report, palpable tension was said to be rife in the area, with several persons uncertain about how the situation may unfold or whether further attacks could be prevented.

It would be recalled that the disturbance of last week in Wadata district claimed the lives of up to 20 people, following the discovery of a decaying corpse in the area. This new disturbance is happening at the backdrop of fresh attacks recorded by Fulani marauders last night in Gboko Local Government area of Benue state, during which several people were killed.
