Comrade Friday Bako bagged another prestigious award as Plateau state Online Journalist of the Year.

The award was given to the online Journalist and Blogger by the organizers of the famous Plateau Social Media Award (PSMA). Presenting the award, the organizers eulogized Cmr. Friday Bako for keeping Plateau citizens abreast of the developments within Plateau, Nigeria and other parts of the world through his consistent and reliable online journalism.

Receiving the award, Cmr. Friday who was accompanied by his Heartthrob and Well wishers appreciated and praised the organizers of PSMA for finding him worthy of the award through the nomination & online voting by Plateau citizens. He encouraged them to sustain the good works they are doing and urged those present to ensure the use the social media positively and use same to engender peace, unity, cohesion, prosperity and development of Plateau State & Nigeria at large.
He admonished them to avoid hate speeches, fake news and character assassination.

He appreciated those who have mentored and still mentoring him, those who believe in him, those who are supportive of him and those who will always call or sit him down to chastise him anytime he is derailing, he said.

He said he never knew that the little he is doing in his little corner is being noticed, recognized, appreciated, rewarded and celebrated.

He further said the award will spur him to continue to do more and better in terms of disseminating accurate and reliable information.

He thanked Plateau Social Media Awards (PSMA) for finding them worthy (all those nominated) for the great honor.

The event held on Sunday 12th July, 2020 at Greatlinks Gold & Base Jos, Plateau State due to the COVID-19 Protocols was preceded by Webinar Series with excellent presentations from Leaders of thoughts and Technocrats such as Chief Garba Pwul SAN, the DG National Orientation Agency (NOA) Alh. Garba Abari, the INEC Resident Commissioner Benue State Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe and the DG Plateau Information & Communication Technology Development Agency (PICTDA) Mr. David Daser.
The central theme was “combating fake news, misinformation and hate speech on the New Media”
