Useni issues disclaimer against fraud being perpetuated in his name

Senator Jeremiah Tumbut Useni has cautioned the general public to discountenance a fraudulent and malicious scheme/idea making rounds in Jos, that he was providing (at massive discount) food items, groceries and sanitary items for Christmas and New Year to members of the general public.

The senator made this disclaimer while reacting to the scam being perpetuated by fraudsters in Jos, who appear to be cashing in on the public’s known perception of Gen. Useni’s benovelence. The disclaimer was contained in a press statement issued by his Media Assistant, Hon. Atiku Yusuf Abubakar.

He said in the statement: “My attention has been drawn to the acts of some fraudsters that have gone virile using the platform of the social media and defrauding innocent people that the I have provided food stuff at a subsidized rate, that any interested person should pay a certain amount into an Account Number given by them.”

Senator Useni said the false news was spread by those whose intent was to cause harm to the general public and further tarnish his reputation “through dubious and mischievous means”.

He added: “I wish to alert the general public that it is totally false and that I have not embark on any such venture”.

Senator Useni stressed that he has his own ways of meeting and reaching out to his people if there was anything of that nature, adding: “I therefore urged the general public to disregards the information, while cautioning that who so ever ventures into depositing his money for that purpose, does it at his/her own risk.”
