Updates on the Local Government elections in Plateau reaching ViewPointNigeria indicate that there was a clash between supporters of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in Jos South LGA. Unconfirmed reports suggest that five persons sustained injuries and were rushed to Vom Christian hospital.

Our correspondent gathered from the youths that the clash was sequel to the late arrival of electoral materials in some polling units considered a stronghold by one of the parties and inadequate supply of voting materials. One of the youths at Darangi 1 ward, Vwang district said “The materials brought here are not enough, because the number of registered voters and the accredited voters today are more than the materials brought here”.

Plateau state Governor, Da Jonah Jang was seen casting his vote at about 1.30pm at his La-Duradu A Ward where he commended the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC)for a good job.

Voting has ended in most of the polling units across the state and results are being collated.
