The Vice Chancellor of University of Jos, Prof. Hayward Mafuyai, said the institution need about N6 billion for the take off of Faculties of Veterinary Medicine, Engineering and Agriculture.
Mafuyai disclosed this on Tuesday, while briefing journalists at the Senate Chambers of the University in Jos.

According to him, “The University of Jos is poised to establish and equip the new programmes to the best international standards.
“It is envisaged that these programmes will deliver on much needed manpower for the transformation of the economy.
The Vice Chancellor maintained that, the new faculties are to run programmes that will contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s quest for accelerated development and realization of vision 20-2020 agenda.
He stressed that, the programmes will require a lot of financial and material support to meet up with the requirements of the National Universities Commission (NUC) and various professional bodies in the country.
Mafuyai further stated that,the University’s Governing Council in conjunction with the Advancement Support Board and UniJos Alumni Association is to raise funds for the projects.
He further maintained that, the target of the institution is to admit its first set of students in the aforementioned faculties in October 2014.
