The Plateau State government has pulled through with plans to develop the ICT capability of the state. In a savvy move, the government inaugurated an ICT committee comprising NITDA personnel, technocrats and civil servants.

Analysts from ViewPointNigeria consider this move as incredibly savvy and apt, given its potential to create employment, eliminate youth restiveness and serve the diversification/revenue needs of the state.

Driving the Youth agenda in the inaugurated committee is the co-founder of nHub (Daser David), an IT technocrat of the Jos based IT start-up firm.

Daser, who is a software engineer and a consultant to the Nigerian Airforce, brings a wealth of experience in software  design and development as well as growing/nurturing start-up organisations.

As well as Daser, other youths and technocrats from nHub will be involved in various capacities in driving the ICT agenda. This unique opportunity, presents a platform for youths to provide key input into governance and steering the ICT policies of the state. Particularly in the areas of youth training, software design competitions, app developments etc

It would be recalled that  a few months ago, ViewPointNigeria profiled nHub and Daser David as technocrats that PLSG needed to as a matter of urgency engage, so as to maximize the potential of the organisation. It is commendable, that the rescue administration has heeded and has further advanced youth participation in its administration.

The committee, which was inaugurated by the State Deputy Governor, Prof Sunny Tyoden, comprised members from a variety of ICT sectors, tasked with drafting the ICT policy of the state.
