TILIKYIL DEVELOPMENT AND WELFARE INITIATIVE DONATES DESKS WITH ATTACHED SEATS TO MHISHIP SCHOOLS

As part of its Empowerment and Welfare initiative aimed at giving back to communities through education interventions, the “Tilikyil Development and Welfare Initiative”, formerly and widely known as “Tilikyil Vanguard” donated 50 Student Desk Sets with Attached Seats to two (2) Secondary Schools and one Primary School in Chip District, Pankshin Local Government Area last Thursday.

The event which held at the Mhiship Community Hall had prominent community leaders, heads and representatives of the three (3) beneficiary institutions, and members of the Development Initiative in attendance.

Chairman of Tilikyil Development and Welfare Initiative, Pharmacist Gershon Dashe noted that the Initiative is a brainchild of some illustrious sons and daughters of Mhiship Chiefdom and a couple of neighboring communities who birthed the idea of creating a Social Welfare Initiative with the sole purpose of giving back to communities through special interventions. He noted that the initiative is committed to ensuring and insuring the improvement of educational, health, social and collective livelihoods of people in the community. He added that the 3 schools selected from each State Ward within Chip Chiefdom are just a starting point and other communities will benefit from subsequent projects and programmes of the Initiative.

Responding to the laudable and commendable effort of the Initiative, the Monarch of the Mhiship Chiefdom, His Royal Highness, Nda Sunday Gunwe Dajep Dasha II, ably represented by the Kawap of Mhiship Chiefdom, Nda Bala Makah commended the group as pace setters who have done something worthy of emulation by other groups and individuals. “You are the New Order in Mhiship. You are a New Force in Mhiship that is Changing the Chemistry of the Mhiship Nation, positively…. We can see it, we can feel it, we can touch it” he said. He prayed God to continue to bless every member of the group as they continue to touch lives in the community.

Chairman of the planning Committee of the Development project, also the Outgoing President of “Mhiship Community Youth Development”, Engr. Moses Zungdet expressed gratitude to the Monarch and the entire community for affording the group the opportunity to give back. He prayed that God Almighty will continue to keep the Elders of the Land as they continue to encourage initiatives by different groups and individuals.

All Representatives of the beneficiary institutions expressed deep appreciation to the group for impacting on the educational progress of their students and prayed that God will continue to replenish all they have donated.

Other elders present at the event were the Nuwang Jepmijit, and Nhize Jepmilit among others. Tilikyil Development and Welfare Initiative is a Development Catalyst committed to strategic engagement and strategic partnerships aimed at using data-driven initiatives to better the lot of people in rural comm communities and improve infrastructure.
