Sequel to reports making rounds that the ruling All Progressives Congress APC is polarized into the Atiku and Buhari camps in Plateau State, the Chairman of the party in the State Hon. Letep Dabang, has come out to debunk such reports, saying those spreading such rumours are people trying to fan embers of disunity in the party.

Latep denied the reports in an exclusive chat with our (ViewPointNigeria’s) correspondent in Jos.

“I’m not aware of that, because as far as I’m concerned, APC is APC; there is nothing like Atiku or Buhari camps. Who is Atiku? he asked; Atiku contested the presidential primaries of the APC and lost out.

“We worked as a state to ensure that Buhari won the election, and he got 48% of the votes cast in Plateau. So where is the issue of Atiku and Buhari camps coming from and for what? He asked.

“They have nothing to quarrel about, because there is nothing at stake for them to be at each other’s throat, he maintained.

The APC Chieftain further explained that, “Those perpetrating such information are people trying to fan the embers of disunity in the party. This is APC government and is trying its best to deliver the dividends of democracy to the citizenry.

On the insinuation that, the APC Chairman is being viewed as the de-facto governor of the State; Letep said there was nothing like him being the de-facto governor.

“Anybody that knows what governance is all about cannot say I’m the de-facto governor. What you see which was not in use is the supremacy of the party. He explained.

“In APC the party is the key in driving the policies of government and if that is what has turned me to be a de-facto governor, then it’s unfortunate.

The APC Chairman maintained that, Governor Simon Lalong is on top of the situation and in control of the State.

“I don’t go to Government House except there is a function. So then, how do I become a de-facto governor? He asked.

Latep further explained that, the governor has the APC manifesto, and knows what to do, except when his input is required.

He appealed to Plateau people to be patient with the new administration, assuring that it will deliver on its promises.
