The Mupun nation under the umbrella of Mupun Cultural and Development Association (MUCDA), on Saturday 26th July, 2025 elected a new set of officials to take over from the Da Alpha John Dakwak led National Executive Council. A statement made available to this medium by the secretary of the Electoral Committee (ELCOM), Dater, Pekop Dawu revealed that the election was held under a peaceful atmosphere at Tambal Hills Resort Lankan. According to the statement, there were 198 accredited delegates from various development associations and branches.

The statement further stated that the results of the election had votes allotted to the candidates as follows:

2. Vice President:
1. Akshak Benjamin Daniel returned unopposed
3. Secretary General:
1. Dayang Amos Wale returned unopposed
4. Assistant Secretary General:
1. Barnabas Shangle Daniang 115 votes
2. Likita Simon Daciya 83 votes
5. Treasurer:
1. Lydia Kumbak returned unopposed
6. Financial Secretary:
1. Dafur Haruna Timothy 89 votes
2. Chinle Luther Dagin 108 votes
7. Public Relations Officer:
1. Mwanlong Akila Dakok 116 votes
2. Emmanuel Joseph Nanle 9 votes
3. Tingkol Peter 73 votes
8. Director of Socials:
1. Joseph James Tongnan 65 votes
2. Dadiyip James Lenge 62 votes
3. Micah Kumtong 69 votes

The chairman of the Electoral Committee, Mwanlong Yakubu Tendet declared the winners of the election based on the highest numbers of votes scored and the satisfaction of the requirements of the law.
The Secretary General of Plateau Initiative for the Development and Advancement of the Natives (PIDAN) Ambassador Danjuma Auta was present at the venue to witness and observe the election. He equally conveyed the goodwill message of PIDAN to the Mupun nation calling on all ethnic nationalities on the Plateau to further unite and solidify the spirit of brotherhood as the only way to repel the forces who are bent on destroying the state.

The Electoral Committee (ELCOM) in its statement conveyed its appreciation to all candidates and their supporters for their peaceful and matured conduct as well as to all delegates, congressmen and women, EXCO, critical stakeholders, traditional title holders and the traditional council for their massive support, cooperation, encouragement which ensured a smooth flow of the electoral process.
The Electoral Committee concluded its report by announcing the swearing in of the new EXCO to be held on Saturday 2nd August, 2025 at Tambal Hills and Resort Lankan by 10:00am.
