The Mupun community in Plateau state paid a courtesy call to the Governor of Plateau State to assure the him of their prayers and support.
Mr Steve Jings introduced the Mupun community to the Governor, and acknowledged the presence of prominent sons and daughters in attendance. Among them were The Mishkom Mupun, Mishkom Yusufu Da Wale, the Mishkom Abwor/Dyis, Mishkom Thomas Dawam, the Mishkom Kagu, Mishkom Peter Daser, the APC Party chairman, Mr Letep Daban, Prof. Dakum Shown, Mr Vwarji, Mr Robert Taple, Mrs Julie Kwardem among many others.
He emphasized the fact that the Mupun delivered 29 out of the 31 pooling units in the region with 2 polling units were cancelled due to discrepancies in the number of votes. Mr Jings also introduced the key mupun sons and daughters in attendance.
The main address was given by the MUCDA Mupun Cultural Development Association) chairman, Mr Nanle Ngujor who assured the governor that the Mupun people are bold confident and committed to fight injustice and were ready to work with the governor in any capacity needed. He further assured the Governor of the support of the people, which as he said was exemplified by the unanimous support given to the Lalong/Tyoden project.
The Mishkom Mupum addressed the governor in a short speech in which he enjoined him to try to be different from his predecessor and thanked him for giving the Mupun people the opportunity to visit him
The Governor in his speech acknowledged the contributions of the Mupun people in the development of Plateau state and the actualisation of the Lalong/Tyoden project. He thanked the Mupun for their support and promised to look into issues that affect the Mupun land as a whole.
