It was a gathering of testimonies on the life of the late district head of Asa, Late Da Rev Samson Bulus Dawurung who was laid to rest on Friday, 12th May 2023 at Asa of Mupun Chiefdom. During a funeral service at COCIN LCC MUPUN CENTER, the Mishkom Mupun in his testimony, eulogized the late mornach and qualified him as a great team player who sacrificed a lot for the greater good of his subjects and Mupun Chiefdom as a whole. On his part, The President of the Mupun Cultural and Development Association (MUCDA), Mr Alpha John Dakwak, expressed deep shock about the death of the District Head and urged the authorities of Pankshin Local Government Council to swing into better action in the area of security in order to create an atmosphere of sound peace and development. He also urged people of the local government to do away with all forms of ethnic differences and focus more on what will bring unity to the people. The Local Government Chairman who was ably represented by the Council Secretary, Hon Edward Sunkur, said the death of a believer was not an end but a transformation into another life. He testified that the late District head lived a life worthy of emulation and prayed God to grant him eternal rest.
In a funeral sermon while taking readings from Psalms 46:1,John 14:1,Rev John Davun, charged all Christians to shun away from their evil ways as heavenly reward will be accorded based on one’s lifestyle while on earth.
It will be recalled that the late district head was gruesomely murdered in Pankshin on the 6th of April, 2023 by unknown assailants.
The burial was attended by the Six district heads in Mupun chiefdom as well as the Long Miship and the District Head of Chigwong. Similarly, the Nigerian Legion, Pankshin Branch was fully represented by countless of their members who stormed Lankan to bid farewell to their late leader.
