The title of this article, were the words of Comrade Emmanuel Audu Zopmal who responded to questions by Kyenzy Ngupar, the anchor of Democracy Today a radio programme of PRTVC Jos, monitored by ViewPointNigeria’s corespondent.

The radio show focused on the challenges and prospects of the Middle-Belt and its role in the forthcoming 2015 general elections. According to Zopmal, the president Students Wing of the Middle-Belt Forum, “The Middle-Belt is strategically important as far as the politics of Nigeria is concerned. We are not only struggling for the emancipation of our people from the cesspool of marginalization and suffering, but also to raise our voices and explore a political agenda that counters the whims and caprices of imperialism against Middle-Belt.” “We are also ready to massively mobilize over 10million votes for President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015, if he runs for presidency.”

Other guests who spoke exclusively and passionately about the cause of the Middle-Belt were Hon. Jonathan Tsako the coordinator of the Middle-Belt Youth League and Comrade Success Wada the Kogi state students coordinator. According to Hon. Tsako, “the MiddleBelt is too important and great to be left out in the scheme of national things. We are prepared to lead Nigeria in 2019, after the successful elapse of Dr. Jonathan’s tenure.”

For Com. Success Wada, “It is not enough for the MiddleBelt to have the position of Senate President presently occupied by Dr. David Mark from Benue state. We are a well politically fortified region that can produce the president of this country and we are battle ready to promote this cause until we realize our dreams.” The event later climaxed with songs on democracy and credible governance. It started at 1PM and ended at 2PM.
