Speaking earlier this week, Governor Jonah Jang has said whoever would succeed him in office come 2015 must be a leader with the fear of God, he also said such a person must posses strong character, the wisdom of Solomon and the interest of the people at heart.

Jang in an open address to the people of the state said: “Regardless of where my successor will emerge from, our search for a leader in 2015 must be driven by key benchmarks ‑ fear of God, wisdom, initiative, strong will/character, courage to defend the heritage, interest and future of Plateau State. He also averred that the person must be credible, with high amounts of integrity and an unwavering commitment to consolidate on the gains made by his administration so far.

The governor pointed out that his administration had been able to chart a road map for governance in the state after a long period of under-development, adding that, what his government has done is to fast track the growth and development of the state “using infrastructure, human capital development and resource mobilisation”.
