TEKAN Admonishes Churches To Empower Youths To Reduce Redundancy, Juvenile Delinquencies

Fellowship of Churches of Christ in Nigeria (Tarayyar Ekklesiyoyin Kristi A Nigeria) TEKAN has admonished member churches to device means of empowering the youths to reduce redundancy , waywardness, juvenile delinquencies and other social vices that are common with the youth in the society.

TEKAN in a communique issued in Jos at the end of their 66th General Assembly held at Mambila Baptist Convention pointed out that the youths should be taught godliness with contentment so that they can be productive and not be carried away by lust and worldly desires that can easily entice them.

The communique which was signed by Rev.Dr. Caleb Solomon Ahima President and Rev. Moses Jatau Ebuga secretary argued that Christians should endeavour to get permanent voters’ card for voting and enjoined members to be fully involved by joining political parties of their choice as card carrying members with a view to vie for political positions and vote for their preffered candidates during election.

Similarly, the assembly also call on the Government and relevant security agencies to carry out their constitutional responsibilities of protecting lives and properties and frowned at the poor conditions of roads in the country and lopsided employments and appointments under the present leadership of Nigeria.

“The Assembly calls on the international community and multinational organisations not to be silent on the high insecurity rocking the Nigerian state.

According to the statement where government fails, members should defend themselves, saying the Church in Nigeria is under siege with threat of annihilation.

The fellowship further resolved that Christian lawyers should take action against forcefully marriage of Christian girls and demolition of Churches in Kano, Lagos, Maiduguri, Kaduna State and other part of the country.
