News being circulated in online sources suggests that the police command in Jos, on Monday, arrested a suspected spy of the dreaded terrorist sect, Boko Haram. The suspect was said to have been clandestinely spying on policemen who were on parade at the Mobile Police Barracks (Sector 8) in Jos. The suspect was said to have been a fellow in his thirties and was said to have been shifty while the parade was going on. His arrest follows numerous complains by concerned citizens on the the recent surge of strangers within the Jos/Bukuru metropolis.

The suspect was said to have been clandestinely spying on policemen who were on parade at the Mobile Police Barracks, in Jos. Said to be in his thirties, the suspect was seen to be shifty and adeptly vigilant while the parade was going on and therefore raising suspicion from the general public. His arrest follows numerous complains by concerned citizens on the the recent surge of strangers within the Jos/Bukuru metropolis. 

It was confirmed that while policemen were undergoing parade rehearsals in preparation for the leaving ceremony of the state police commissioner, they observed suspicious behaviour from the suspect who was said to be there present in the crowd. And when the policemen confronted him with a view of asking questions, he was said to have attempted to run away. He was initially said to have made a dash towards the nursery and primary school building of a school within the barracks, and was said to have cause a stir because people feared for the worst, but was said to be promptly caught and arrested by the policemen. Having been arrested, it was confirmed that he still made another frantic effort to escape, but was again re-apprehended and has now been transferred to the Anglo Jos Police station for further investigation.

On interrogation, he was said to have confirmed that he was Kanuri by tribe and that he hails from Gonori in Gujba Local Government Area, in Yobe state -a place said to be a Boko Haram strong hold.
Spokesperson for the police in Plateau State, DSP Felicia Anselm, confirmed the arrest yesterday, adding that investigation had commenced to garner more facts on the matter.
