The much anticipated inauguration of Simon Lalong as governor of Plateau state, following the keenly contested 2015 election happened this afternoon.

Arriving at the Rwang Pam stadium with his supporters, Lalong was all smiles amidst cheers from his supporters and well wishers.

The outgoing governor, Jonah who was not at the event was represented by his deputy governor, Amb. Ignatius Longjan.

Lalong’s inaugural speech was magnanimous and contained several references to running a government of unity and engagement.
