The Senator representing Plateau North Senatorial District in the National Assembly Distinguish Senator I. D. Gyang is saddened by the news of the inferno that gutted the popular timber market (katako) in Laranto, Jos and sees it as a huge loss to the commerce of Plateau North Senatorial District and the state at large.
In a statement by his Special Assistant on Media and Protocol Musa Ibrahim Ashoms, the Senator recalled that around this time last year, the same market was in flames and the Senator did call on government to put in place mechanism that will preempt the recurrence of losses by traders that invested enormous resources in adding value to the economy of the state.
Given the huge loss incurred by the affected traders, Senator Gyang is calling on Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the State Emergency Agency (SEMA) to quickly come to their aid with needed relief to ameliorate their plight.
The Senator commensurate and sympathize with the affected traders and pray against such ugly incidents in the future.
